Planning Your Disneyland Paris Package from Canada with Confidence

Many Canadian families begin researching a Disneyland Paris package from Canada with equal parts excitement and uncertainty. It promises the perfect blend of Disney magic and European adventure. The experience is both familiar and surprisingly different from planning a Disney vacation in North America. With the right planning strategy and destination knowledge, it can be smooth and deeply rewarding.

This is where working with a team of experienced Disney vacation specialists truly makes a difference. Several members of our Pure Magic Vacations team have recently visited Disneyland Paris, which allows us to offer guidance based on what we’ve actually seen and experienced ourselves.

What to Expect When Booking a Disneyland Paris Package from Canada

A common myth among first-time visitors is that Disneyland Paris is difficult to reach. In reality, Disneyland Paris is well connected by high-speed train, regional rail from central Paris and airport transfers from both Charles de Gaulle and Orly, including direct service to Marne-la-Vallée station at the park gates. Many families combine their stay with time in Paris, the French Riviera or even a Disney Cruise Line sailing departing from Europe.

Many Canadian travellers combine their Disneyland Paris stay with time exploring iconic Paris landmarks like the Eiffel Tower.

Vacation Specialist Jodi Faria combined a visit to Paris and Disneyland Paris in the same trip, saying,

“We chose to end with Disney because I like to finish on something magical. After a busy few days sightseeing in Paris, it was the perfect way to wrap up the adventure.”

Our team has found that transportation logistics and dining reservations are often the two areas that surprise Canadian families the most. Understanding how the train system works and when restaurant bookings open can significantly impact the overall experience.

Vacation Specialist Mandy Christensen travelled to the destination with her girlfriends.

“The train ride itself was straightforward and clearly marked,” she explained. “It was busy during commuting hours, but once we arrived, the station was right outside the park gates.”

Staying on-site Makes a Difference

When booking a Disneyland Paris package from Canada, staying on-site provides meaningful advantages. Disney hotels offer Extra Magic Time, allowing guests to enter the theme parks before official opening to experience select attractions. This quieter time of day is especially helpful for families and those adjusting to jet lag.

On-site hotels are also within walking distance or a short shuttle ride to the parks. The resort is compact, making it easy to move between the recommended hotels, theme parks and Disney Village. Choosing the right hotel influences everything from theme park touring strategy to dining flexibility and the pace of your vacation.

Choosing the Right Hotel for Your Family

Disneyland Paris offers several on-site hotels, each with a very different look and feel. Matching the right hotel to your family is one of the most important planning steps.

Magnificent Disneyland Hotel in Paris

The Disneyland Hotel sits directly at the entrance to Disneyland Park, offering a truly immersive arrival experience.

Three properties are especially popular with Canadian families:

  • The Disneyland Hotel sits right at the the entrance to Disneyland Park, featuring royal-inspired design, immersive storytelling and views of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

  • For families with older children or Marvel fans, Disney Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel offers a contemporary style and Super Hero encounters. From here, it’s about a ten-minute walk to the parks.

  • Disney Newport Bay Club is often a favourite for larger families, offering spacious rooms and a slightly more economical option while located close to the action.

Understanding the Theme Parks and What’s New

Disneyland Paris has two theme parks located just steps apart: Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park. This makes park hopping simple and manageable for families with children of all ages.

Jodi says,

“The two parks are small and manageable with young children, and it’s easy to move between them,” she said. “And what other Disney park has a dragon living under the castle?”

At the same time, Vacation Specialists Zahra and Shafiq Pirbhai caution families against underestimating the parks.

“A common misconception is that you can see it all in one day. You will feel rushed. We always recommend at least two nights.”

Walt Disney Studios Park will soon be reimagined as Disney Adventure World, with major expansions underway. The opening of World of Frozen in 2026 will significantly expand the park’s footprint and introduce a new nighttime experience. Staying informed about theme park updates helps you to set realistic expectations and to time your vacation appropriately.

Dining, Shows and Planning Ahead

Dining at Disneyland Paris requires advance planning, particularly for character dining experiences and popular table service restaurants. Reservations typically open two to three months before arrival and can fill quickly during peak travel periods. With a variety of dining packages available, it’s important to choose the right pairing for your hotel and accompanying dining plan.

Shows, parades and nighttime spectaculars are included with your theme park admission. Optional upgrades are available to help make your experience more magical. This is another part of planning where expert guidance makes a difference.
